University Support

The University has a wide range of support services to assist you in settling within your course and university life:

MFC is accessible for both staff and students at the University from all faiths (and no faiths) & backgrounds. MFC has a welcoming atmosphere and is very resourceful. It has a large communal room, a fully furnished kitchen, and a quiet room for prayer. MFC accommodates for everyone. Many students are unaware of this facility and miss the benefits of this place, so I really do recommend you check it out, you will not regret it!

MFC is located just 3-minute walk from the Woodland Muslim Prayer Room!

4 ways you can benefit from the MFC

1.   Attend daily lunchtime socials from 12pm-2pm (weekdays). Click here to see what's on each day

a.    On Mondays there is FREE soup, which is a must try! Don’t go just for the food though, seek the opportunity to meet and talk to other students and societies.

b.   The inter-cultural craft corner on Thursdays is also very popular and fun, with various crafting activities.

2.   MFC is open from 11am-3pm weekdays, where you can

a.    Study (or procrastinate by socialising with others)

b.   Escape - a place to zone out, reflect and seek advice

c.    Cook food (there’s hobs, microwaves, oven, everything!) or have a drink (free beverages available) To respect all faiths, meat and alcohol are not permitted in the building & remember to clean up after yourself (you are representing the Ummah).

3.   Get advice from chaplains. You contact the Muslim chaplain/s or or email multifaith-chaplaincy@bristol.ac.uk to book 121 pastoral and spiritual support. Click here for the contact details of the Muslim Chaplains. Emergency support is also available e.g., acute ill health.
